Email of the Month: October

At Zerorez, we realize that between work, school, kids, soccer games, and social obligations, our clients are busy and booking an optimal appointment for carpet cleaning can be tricky business.  That is why we always do our very best to arrive on time with a positive attitude to make each cleaning appointment a pleasant and pain-free experience. However, the truth is that sometimes mistakes happen - equipment is forgotten, tires go flat, and on the very-rare occasion a spot is missed.  

On a recent call, the portable unit that we have available to clean homes on the upper floors of apartment buildings was mistakenly allocated to another job on another route.  When our technicians arrived at our client's home, they saw three long flights of stairs between them and a successful job.  Instead of giving up on the job, they saw an opportunity to work together and complete the scheduled cleaning.  The resulting email from our client was music to our ears.

I wanted to let you know about the excellent service I received!

I had ordered a portable unit when I booked my appt., because our condo is on the 4th floor.  There was a mis-communication and your portable units were up in LA.

Your employees, Keith and Chris, went above and beyond in order to get the hoses up to our 4th floor condo.  It took every bit of the length of hose in their truck, but they made it.  It's so unusual these days to see this kind of quality service and can-do attitude from both Keith and Chris.  I appreciate all their efforts and wanted you to know!

The Positive Difference

Most carpet cleaners will advertise with dramatic (if slightly retouched), before-and-after photos.  Here is a camera-phone photo snapped by one of our creative technicians as he finished up the living room of a client.  It can be difficult to recognize the veritable transformation if one goes away when the carpet is dirty and returns when it is clean.  To provide his client with a visual representation of the positive difference that Zerorez can make, our technician left a small area of carpet uncleaned and, using a smaller hand tool, wrote "zerorez" in the carpet.  Fortunately, our client was grateful for the demonstration after which our technician, of course, promptly finished cleaning to reveal a beautifully restored carpet.  We are proud that our technician remembered to take the time to show the positive difference that Zerorez can make.

"I can't say enough about Zerorez!  Roxanne, in the call center was extremely helpful, listening to my carpet issues, then based on my problem, sent a knowledgeable Tech who was able to re-stretch my carpet at the same appointment as the cleaning.

Awesome technician!!  Robert was the best...he called when he was 10 minutes away to let us know when he would arrive.  He spoke very highly of the company he worked for, saying he'd been in the carpet business for years but Zerorez was by far the best company, with the best boss, the best equipment/trucks AND the best cleaning process.  I showed Robert the bubble issue with our bedroom carpet...Robert re-stretched and re-seamed it to perfection!!  The carpets came out spectacular...all the pet stains/smells were gone and my carpets look brand new again.

"We'll Drink the Water"

At Zerorez, "We'll drink the water," is more than just a catchphrase; our technicians will actually drink the water that we use to clean your home.


The times that we are called upon to prove our claim may be few, but the very fact that we can drink our water does a lot to set us apart from other companies in the industry.  This was brought to light recently when one of our customers related to us a case of mystery, intrigue, and mistaken identity.

It all began when our customer went online and accidentally booked a service call with another carpet cleaner.  GASP!  When their technician arrived, she didn't recognize the truck or the uniform as standard Zerorez-issue.  Unwilling to let the technician perform the service until she knew it was going to be up to Zerorez standard, she asked the only question she could that would absolutely distinguish this company from Zerorez.  She asked the technician, "Will you drink the water?"  The incredulous stare she received in response to her query was answer enough, and she sent the other company away.  After a quick phone call to one of our friendly, call center operators, a Zerorez appointment was booked.  Just know that when you book a an appointment with Zerorez, we will not send out an under-trained subcontractor; you will always have a Zerorez technician in a Zerorez uniform driving a Zerorez truck or van.

The lesson here is, be careful with whom you schedule your appointment.  Many other companies will include "zerorez" or "zero residue" as search words to help promote their online presence but  that alone will not provide the Zerorez difference.  We are always working on updating our software and increasing the efficiency with which we book our appointments.  We are currently accepting appointment inquiries through our website, but to maintain the personal touch, we are still booking appointments exclusively with our call center operators at (866)937-6739.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us either way; we look forward to hearing from you soon.
